Kapoor family members Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and others met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to personally invite him to commemorate Raj Kapoor’s legacy on his 100 birth anniversary. The Raj Kapoor Film Festival is ready to commence on December 13.
Ranbir Kapoor recalls Kapoor family’s experience of meeting PM Narendra Modi
The Kapoor family shares their experiences of interacting with the Prime Minister in a video that went viral online. In the clip, Ranbir Kapoor admitted that the entire family was nervous before meeting PM but his warm and generous demeanor made them ease and comfortable. He expressed, “We enjoyed speaking to him. We could ask him a lot of personal questions. He talked to us in a very friendly manner. Hum sab ki hawa tight thi, we were very nervous, but he made us feel very comfortable, and I thank him.”
In addition, even Kareena Kapoor talked about her experience and shared that it was a long-time dream of hers to have a conversation with Prime Minister Modi for her grandfather’s 100th birth anniversary. She stated, “His energy is so positive and peaceful. He is truly a global leader.”
Even Alia Bhatt shared her thoughts on meeting PM Narendra Modi, and said, “His energy, kindness and gestures are the way he welcomes us. He also talked about Raj Kapoor ji and his legacy and also gave ideas on what can be done more to educate the world. It was such a proud moment for all of us.”
“It was a nice feeling to meet the nation’s leader. He gave a nice suggestion that we should make a documentary on Raj Kapoor’s soft power in central and east Europe,” Saif Ali Khan added.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni concluded, “It felt like he was part of our family. My life became successful today after meeting Modi ji.”
The Raj Kapoor Film Festival, inaugurated by the Kapoor family, will showcase 10 of Raj Kapoor’s iconic films across 40 cities and 135 cinemas in India from December 13 to December 15 at the PVR-Inox and Cinepolis cinemas.
